Vineyard description

Many centuries ago nature created the unique and fertile lands of "Tavria", endowing them with an ideal climate for vine cultivation.

The vineyards reside on the steppes of Southern Ukraine. Consisting of the Borovskaya Terrace and the fertile, sandy cresent of Kakhovka. Several soil types are enjoyed in this rich land. The soils are comprised of ancient, superficial sandy and sabulous content. Millions of years ago, this region was the ancient river-bed of the Dnepr River.

Sandy, light and warm soils are enriched by nutrients and a multitude of natural microelements. Therefore, a vine cultivated in these soils, gives a wonderfully fragrant grape, from which masters of "Tavria" prepare high-quality beverages - noble brandy and light, delicious natural wines.

Other types of soil found include, light loamy and solonetzic soils, rich black earth.

This fact is not lost in the superior development of all Tavria’s offerings; geographically Tavria’s vineyards are also found at 46 degrees longitude. The same coordinate as the city in which the noble drink was born. Cognac in a province Sharanta, France.

Our vineyards are located in a pollution-protected region. All planting is carefully controlled, enabling the yield of a high quality raw product.
With the purpose of viticulture intensification in mind, the most modern, fully computer-aided technologies of agriculture are used, such as drip irrigation and phyto-monitoring.

Tavria uses its own-rooted vine plants, ensuring a stable yield equal to any others found in Europe, as far as our standards and practices.

In addition, Tavria’s beautiful land is naturally blessed with a resistance to phylloxera, the primary enemy of vine.
